Vending Machine Case Study: 3 Machines, 3 Locations, 1 Day — Scott’s Smart Vending, Sarnia

October 5, 2026

Buying a vending machine is one decision. Getting three of them through three different doorways, at three different sites, in two different cities — on the same day — is a logistics job. This is the story of how Feel Good Snacks did exactly that for Scott’s Smart Vending in Sarnia, Ontario, told through the customer’s own words.

Key takeaways
  • Three FGS vending machines, each sized to its site, delivered to three locations in two cities in one day.
  • Door widths and stairs were solved on the spot by the FGS delivery crew — no return trips, no rescheduling.
  • Every text, email and call during the purchase was answered immediately — the customer was “never left guessing”.
  • The lesson for new operators: size each vending machine to its site and measure the route in before delivery day.

The customer: Scott’s Smart Vending

Scott’s Smart Vending, Inc. is a vending operator based in Sarnia, in southwestern Ontario, led by CEO Scott Jackson. Rather than starting with a single machine, Scott lined up several placements at once — which meant buying more than one vending machine, in more than one size, for sites that each had their own access constraints.

Sarnia sits roughly three hours west of the Feel Good Snacks warehouse in Mississauga, so this wasn’t a quick local drop-off. Like every FGS customer, Scott worked directly with our team from first enquiry through to delivery, from owner Fares and the office team to the delivery crew on the road.

The challenge: three sites, three sets of doors, one day

Multi-site deliveries are where vending machine purchases most often go wrong. A full-size machine weighs roughly 300–395 kg and stands about six feet tall, and every site is different:

  • Different sizes for different rooms. Each placement needed a cabinet width that suited the space and the expected traffic — one size does not fit every site.
  • Door widths and stairs. Commercial buildings often have narrow doorways, tight turns or steps between the truck and the final spot.
  • Two cities in one run. Spreading three placements across two cities meant the route, timing and crew had to be planned as one job.
  • A new operator’s nerves. When you’re building a business, delivery day is when the investment becomes real — communication matters as much as muscle.

Get any of these wrong and a machine sits in a truck instead of earning — or worse, a return trip pushes the go-live back by a week.

How Feel Good Snacks delivered

Scott’s own account highlights the parts of the process that made the difference:

Clear, fast communication

From the first enquiry to delivery, Scott says every text, email and phone call was answered immediately — “at no point was I left guessing.”

Right machine for each site

Three FGS vending machines in different sizes, matched to three placements rather than a one-size order.

Problem-solving on site

Delivery lead Moe “had a solution for every problem that came up regarding door sizes and stairs,” with crew member Keith alongside.

Behind that sat the standard FGS onboarding: a free consultation to plan the order, machines prepared at the Mississauga warehouse, delivery and installation by our own crew, and hands-on guidance on operating the machines once they were in place. If you’re weighing how to pay for a multi-machine start, see our guides to vending machine financing and lease vs buy.

The result

All three vending machines were delivered and placed at three locations in two cities on the same day — no return trips and no rescheduled installs. Scott summed up the experience in his own words:

“During the entire process from first contacting FGS and inquiring about their company, acquiring the machines and the final delivery thereof, the staff were polite, upbeat, friendly and incredibly helpful. At no point was I left guessing. All my texts, emails and phone calls were answered immediately.”

Scott Jackson — CEO, Scott’s Smart Vending, Inc., Sarnia, ON

He was just as clear about the crew: the delivery team “remained positive, and upbeat” despite the physical strain, and he closed with the line every supplier hopes to hear — “Thank you, Feel Good Snacks… you have a customer for life.”

FGS vending machines come in four cabinet widths (roughly 30, 35, 41 and 48 inches), all about six feet tall and 33 inches deep. Choosing the right width for each room is what let Scott place three different sizes at three different sites.

FGS3 — the compact 3-wide cabinet for tighter rooms
FGS 4-wide vending machine
FGS4 — the mid-size cabinet most sites start with
FGS 5-wide vending machine
FGS5 — more selections for busier locations

Lessons for new vending operators

Scott’s rollout is a useful template for anyone planning more than one placement:

  1. Size each vending machine to its site. Match cabinet width and selection count to the room and the traffic — a compact machine in a small staff room, a larger one where volume justifies it.
  2. Measure the route, not just the spot. Check every doorway, corner, step and elevator between the truck and the final position before delivery day, and share the measurements with your supplier.
  3. Batch your deliveries. Placing several machines in one planned run saves time and gets every location earning at once.
  4. Confirm power and floor. Each site needs a standard outlet nearby and a level floor that can take the machine’s weight.
  5. Buy from a supplier that answers the phone. Responsiveness before the sale is the best predictor of support after it.

Frequently asked questions

Can Feel Good Snacks deliver several vending machines to different locations on the same day?

Yes. As this case study shows, we can plan a single delivery run that places multiple machines at different sites — even across two cities — so every location goes live together. Share your addresses and access details when you order.

Do you deliver vending machines outside the GTA?

Yes. We deliver from our Mississauga warehouse to anywhere in Canada. Delivery and installation typically run $350–$700, higher outside the GTA depending on distance and access.

What if my location has narrow doors or stairs?

Tell us the doorway widths, turns and any steps before delivery day. FGS cabinets range from roughly 30 to 48 inches wide, so we can recommend a size that fits, and our crew is experienced with tight access.

Which vending machine size should I choose for each site?

Match the cabinet to the space and the traffic: compact machines for small staff rooms, larger machines with more selections for busy sites. Our team will recommend sizes for each placement during your free consultation.

Do you provide training when the machines are delivered?

Yes. New FGS customers get hands-on guidance on loading, pricing and operating their machines, plus ongoing support, parts and service afterwards.
